A city is infinity in a finite space. It is mind and matter endlessly rearranged to resemble a fixed point in the universe; one that may serve as both medium and message for the dreams of its inhabitants, some lasting moments and others millennia.

ARCHIBA looks to capture a sense of the innumerable facets of urbanism. In a diverse programme of short films that both honour and interrogate the modern metropolis, aspiring and experienced filmmakers alike explore the city through architecture, religion, language, politics, and dance.

These films serve as contemporary, ritual, spontaneous, habitual responses to the profound and profane, the eminent and arcane, as realised through various modes and methods, whether fictional or factual, spiritual or physical, object or abstract.

ARCHIBA aims to be a sign, a symbol, a cipher, a signal, of objects and ideas forever in exchange. It is a work in and of the city, which we gladly invite you to enter.
